When mourning the death of a man, we do not bury just what he was in the last moments, or his last years.
We pay tribute to a life-time.
The totality of a man.
Gregoire was supposed to become a great and successful diplomat, representing a country that plays an important role in international peace negotiations. Instead he travelled to Hurst Green to meet Shri Mataji, and, without him knowing, unwillingly, She change his destiny into becoming our "elder brother", that was in 1975.
Shri Mataji advised him to resign this career. Then after, he worked with the UN focusing on different issues, especially thise related to Water. This allowed him to travel all over the world, frre fo any obligation towards a specific country or government. His travels exposed him to representatives of Dictators, tropical diseases, permanent jetlag and many deserts. His job was a planet-dimensional one.
But his travels also allowed him to meet, interact with and teach Sahaja Yogis in many different countries, thus becoming a real "big brother" for many of us, almost everywhere.
Upon Shri Mataji's request, he was the first to fulfill Her wish, writing a book about Sahaja Yoga and Her incarnation. The Advent remains today the most read, the most precise and one of the most useful tools to spread and deepen Sahaj knowledge.
The French yogis in particular are deeply indebted to him for rewriting 'L'avènement'. That story started after a Guru Puja evening programme in 1983, when he asked me about a potential French edition of the book. It was first published in 1985. Many seekers got their Self Realization from finding this book on the shelves of French bookshops. Seekers who read the book overnight, so many of them far from Sahaj centres, could start a new life. FRANCE has been specially cared for by Gregoire.
One should not forget the impact of L'Avènement in Africa, bringing in its first yogis (by mail - means: paper letters), in Ivory Coast or Congo. The same effect was produced by the Spanish translation in Colombia, to the Hispanic world. Of course other translations followed everywhere.
No wonder then, if 150 Sahajis gathered at his funeral. Along with the Swiss community, some brothers came from Germany and Austria, of course, from Belgium, 3 from France, Italy, Netherlands, but some took a fast plane from USA, Montreal and even Moscow. Many tributes were read about his loving character, shared as much with the first ashramites in London, as with his own family, be it anywhere else, with white-haired sahaj - pioneers of yore-, or with contemporary yuvas. All of them described the Love he was spreading, his constant care and attention to the spiritual growth of his fellow yogis and his own permanent quest for purity.
After the demise of our beloved Shri Mataji, and now the - as we say in France - 'disappearance' of Gregoire, we Sahajis have to face our heritage, and our destiny. What about our divine way of life?
What about our meditation, our depth?
What about our collectivity?
Now that the memorial ceremony is over and that the flowers and incense have been offered, lets consider Gregoire's life as a whole, of whom we are the heirs, and ask to ourselves:
Are we able to take some inspiration from such a life, dedicated to the Spirit, and to sharing the Self-realization with the whole wide world?
We pay tribute to a life-time.
The totality of a man.

Hence, while speaking of Gregoire, we are speaking of a work, a presence, a life expanded to the whole planet.
